👋 Meet Mike — The REALTOR® Built From Hard Work, Experience & Heart

Hi, I’m Mike Schwiebert, REALTOR® here in Clay County, Orange Park, Lake Asbury, and all of Northeast Florida.
I’ve been a licensed REALTOR® since 2007, but my story in real estate began long before that… in a small Midwestern workshop where hard work wasn’t optional — it was a way of life.

Growing up, my brother and I were always building, fixing, or improving something. Woodworking, welding, machining — you name it, we tried it. I bought, repaired, and sold anything I could get my hands on: bicycles, ATVs, stereos… anything that could turn a profit. At 14 years old, I started my first business and quickly learned this simple truth:

That mindset has guided every chapter of my life.

Hard work pays off

🛠️ From the Trenches of Construction to Mastering the Trades

I didn’t only learn construction from a classroom — I learned it from the trenches.
Literally.

I carried concrete blocks in 100-degree heat. Waterproofed foundations. Dug trenches. Built decks. Took on remodeling jobs no one else wanted. And over time, I mastered residential and commercial construction from the inside out.

As my skills and reputation grew, I expanded into:

High-end historic home remodeling
Custom home building
Commercial renovation
Full-scale commercial construction (See an article I wrote for Modern Steel)

But the early years were tough. I lost nearly everything in my early 20s. Not because I wasn’t skilled — but because skill alone doesn’t build a business. I had to learn sales, marketing, branding, and relationship-building the hard way… by knocking on doors, shaking hands, and outworking everyone around me. My never-quit mentality has been a way of life.

Those lessons built the foundation of my real estate career.

🌴 Trading Snow for Sunshine — And Building a New Career in Florida

When I moved to Florida, the real estate market was exploding — and then, almost overnight, it crashed. Instead of panicking, I saw opportunity.

I had been through financial hardship myself, so I knew what homeowners were feeling. I stepped in to help people save their homes through loan modifications or sell through short sales to avoid foreclosure.

Helping people through the housing crisis was one of the most meaningful chapters of my life. There’s nothing like seeing the relief on someone’s face when they realize they’re not going to lose everything.

During this time, I also worked with banks, investment firms, and builders to handle their REO properties — giving me an insider’s understanding of:

How large institutions value property
What builders do right (and wrong)
Why some properties fail long before the sale

This knowledge still helps my clients today.

📈 Building a Brand People Remember

As the market began recovering, I built one of the most recognized real estate marketing platforms in the Oakleaf Plantation area — so successful that the developer tried to shut it down. (Long story… but let’s just say the brand worked too well.)

The result?

I mastered the art of targeted real estate marketing, SEO, paid advertising, and branding — the skills that now help me get my sellers’ homes seen by thousands of potential buyers.

Today, my marketing reach covers all of North Florida, and my listings consistently outperform the competition.

My values today are the same as they were back in the 80’s and 90’s when I was a kid who could do anything I set my mind to. If I tell you something, I know it is a fact. There is no sugar coating and never will be with me.

Giving Back

Mike and his family also do an annual Christmas Light Show that collects donations for local children and families in need. It is called the Lake Asbury Christmas Light Show. He also sponsors various charity events, dance competitions, and youth sports teams annually.
